As of November 2019, CE marking for external fire doors has been mandatory under product standard EN 14351-1. This essential marking comes with a Declaration of Performance, which replaces the traditional fire resistance report.
Why CE marking matters:
Compliance: With CE marking, manufacturers no longer need additional documents to prove the fire-rated performance of their doors. This simplifies the compliance process and ensures that all necessary safety checks have been comprehensively covered.
However, it’s important to note that while non-rated external doors can be self-certified, if the door is equipped with panic furniture on an escape route, self-certification is not permitted.
Quality and safety assurance: CE marking confirms that a fire door has been rigorously tested and meets European safety standards, providing peace of mind that the door will perform effectively in the event of a fire.
Consumer confidence: Under AVCP system 1, our fire and escape door products, as well as our manufacturing process, are independently verified by surveillance audits conducted by a notified body. This assures customers that the fire door is manufactured to high standards and will perform reliably when needed.
By adhering to these standards, we ensure that our products not only comply with regulations but also provide maximum safety and reliability.
