1. Design Engineer
Job Purpose:
- To be responsible for the design and the programming of the entire product range that we currently offer. Working to the job order specification, you will design, create drawings and use Radan to program the door sets to the customer’s specifications.
- To comply with the company’s policies and procedures, particularly in respect of quality, health & safety, housekeeping, environment, and human resources.
- Support a culture in which employees take pride in their work, are focused on customer service, are proactive in finding long term solutions to problems as they arise, are constantly looking for ways to improve the way they work, accept responsibility for their actions, and treat each other with respect.
Reporting to:
Reporting directly to the DFM Team Leader.
Responsibilities include:
- Ensure drawings and turret punch programs are delivered on time in full, product quality exceeds customers’ expectations and costs are controlled within budget.
- Suggest ideas for the continuous improvement of Driveworks, Solidworks and Radan systems and the associated business processes to improve productivity and eliminate waste.
- Participate in the new product introduction process as requested.
- Use Driveworks to input the job specification.
- Support the sales team in the preparation of quotations for customer requirements which are outside the scope of the standard offer.
- Use Solidworks to review the design model and make manual changes to ensure that the model matches the job specification (ie. non-standard furniture) if required and create manufacturing drawings and DXF’s for Radan.
- Comply with current drawing office standards for how models are drafted and documented, including naming conventions to minimise the risk of corruption of the Driveworks / Solidworks master models.
- Use Radan programming software to create programs for the turret punch and the water jet machines.
- Provide assembly drawings, BOMs, folding details etc for door sets with a “non-standard” element as requested.
- Communicate non-standard requirements for manufacturing to the Production Manager and Supervisor, including drawings as appropriate.
- Amend job descriptions in the Epicor manufacturing system where appropriate to aid communication to the assembly team.
- Assist in the resolution of manufacturing problems arising from the design of a particular door.
- Provide “as built” drawings as requested to the sales team.
- Investigate the causes of non-conformances and customer complaints. Identify and implement actions which will prevent recurrence.
- Ensure that the workplace is maintained in a safe and tidy condition.
Key Skills:

Qualifications and Experience:
- Educated to at least HND level in Mechanical Engineering / Design.
- 3D CAD experience, preferably Solidworks, but other systems will be considered.
- Experience of working with Driveworks and Solidworks.
- Experience of CNC programming using tools such as Radan, Lantech, E-coder.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems, in particular, the generation of bills of materials routings within an ERP system.
- Experience of design of sheet metal products.
- Knowledge of punching and folding processes.
2. CAD Technician
Job Purpose:
- To be responsible for creating, updating, and amending project-specific and standard detail drawings that support the commercial team in securing project approvals.
- This role is critical in ensuring precise and accurate designs that meet client requirements and assist in achieving project approvals.
Reporting to:
Reporting directly to the Sales Office Manager.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop detailed and accurate drawings based on project specifications and client requirements.
- Update and amend drawings for approval to assist in setting status A sign off.
- Modify and update existing drawings to reflect changes in project scope or specifications.
- Ensure all revisions are documented and communicated effectively to relevant stakeholders.
- Produce standard detail drawings to show different project specification details.
- Collaborate with the Projects team to understand project requirements and timelines.
- Liaise with relevant managers to ensure all drawings meet necessary standards.
Key Skills:
- Proficient in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks or similar)
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all drawings and revisions.
- Ability to prioritise workload and work to deadlines.
- Competent at identifying and rectifying errors or discrepancies.
- Team player with a high level of dedication.
- Excellent communication skills i.e. written and verbal communication.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Time management.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Diploma or degree in CAD, Engineering or related field.
- Proven experience of working in a similar role.
3. Sales Estimator
Job Purpose:
- Effectively manage estimating projects and analyse data to produce accurate and compliant quotations for our customers, comprising of Main Contractors, Sub-Contractors, and Architects.
- To maintain a high level of customer service through timely and effective communication.
- Support a culture in which employees take pride in their work, are focussed on customer service, proactively address problems by finding long-term solutions, continuously look for ways to improve the way they work, take accountability for their actions, and treat each other with respect.
Reporting to:
Reporting directly to the Sales Office Manager/Commercial Manager.
Responsibilities include:
- Produce quotations for projects using the EPICOR system and issue them back to the Sales Office Manager within dedicated timescales.
- Communicate regularly with external customers to ensure comprehensive and compliant quotation.
- Communicate with internal departments to ensure the accuracy of information and timings within the quotation.
- Review enquiries to ensure we can supply a compliant quotation within our product range.
- Ensure quotations are 100% accurate including relevant margins.
- Regular customer contact regarding key quotations
- Quote amendments pre and post-sale.
- Raise DFA’s when required ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure certification requirements are adhered to within the quotation.
- Answer general technical enquiries ie. specifications, certification, and building regulations, referring to the technical team when required.
- Follow all standard operating procedures and processes.
- Ensure KPIs are fulfilled.

- Strong focus on providing high-quality customer service and building relationships with clients.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.

- Microsoft Office (word/excel/outlook etc).
- Experience in using CRM system.
- Ability to read construction drawings & schedules.
- Ability to understand standards and the routes to compliance advantageous.
- Construction product/systems estimating experience preferred.
4. Junior Site Support
Job Purpose:
To support the Senior Site Engineer/Site Engineer, in the maintenance and repair of Doors. This is a field-based role with the occasional need to be in the office.
Reporting to:
Reporting directly to Site Services Manager/Senior Site Engineer.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting the Senior Site Engineer/Site Engineer in training Customers to ensure that a good quality of installation is achieved and that they are fully conversant in how the product is correctly installed.
- Spot-checking of our customer’s installations and our own “Approved Contractors” to ensure that our quality standards are being adhered to.
- Fault diagnostics on Doors.
- Site visits where the quality of installation, damage or failure of the product is questioned to ascertain the exact nature of the problem and then to apportion the correct course of remedial action and cost.
- Participating in the training of the assembly and manufacture of doors.
- Quality Assurance and ensuring complaints are lodged for every item reported as being a quality issue or product failure.
- Minor repairs and tweaking of doors as deemed necessary on-site.
- Reporting areas where improvements to the product can be achieved.
- Assisting Production when required.
Key Skills:
- Understanding of door manufacturing processes.
- Ability to meticulously inspect door installations for quality, alignment and functionality.
- Attention to detail to ensure that installations meet company standards and customer requirements.
- Capacity to build rapport with customers and contractors while maintaining a professional demeanour.
- Exceptional time management, planning and organisational skills to ensure schedules efficiently meet deadlines and inspections are thoroughly conducted.
- Have a full valid driving licence.
Qualifications:
Experience of working in a similar role/business.
