What is Sample Auditing?
Sample auditing involves inviting an inspector from the fire testing laboratory to our manufacturing facility to witness and verify the assembly of our fire test specimens. They ensure that all materials used align perfectly with the specifications and drawings we provide, documenting key stages such as adhesive application and pressing processes.
Why is it Important?
This process is particularly important for items that cannot be identified/seen once the door is fully assembled, such as core materials. While sample auditing is not mandatory for fire resistance testing, it becomes essential when pursuing third-party accreditations such as Certifire or CE-marking under AVCP System 1.
By having a sample auditor physically sign and document the test specimens, we eliminate any chance of components being switched before testing. This added layer of scrutiny includes verifying the traceability of every element used in the door assembly.
