National Apprenticeship Week is an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the contributions of apprentices and the value they bring to businesses. At EBD Steel Doors, we believe in the power of apprenticeships to shape the future of our industry, providing hands-on experience, skill development, and career progression. This year, we’re proud to highlight two of our team members, Ashley and Ryan, who exemplify the dedication and talent fostered through apprenticeships.
Ashley: A Double Award-Winning Apprentice

We’re thrilled to celebrate Ashley, who has been recognised for her hard work and commitment. Ashley won the Management and Development Apprentice of the Year and overall Higher Apprentice of the Year at the Gower College Swansea Apprenticeship Awards 2025.
Ashley’s journey showcases how apprenticeships provide a strong foundation for professional growth. Her dedication to learning and development, combined with her drive to excel, has made her a valuable member of our team. We take pride in supporting our apprentices, helping them build skills and gain experience that will set them up for long-term success.
Ashley’s achievement highlights how apprenticeships can empower individuals to reach their full potential. We couldn’t be prouder of her well-deserved recognition.
Ryan: A Future in Manufacturing Engineering

Another shining example of the success of apprenticeships is Ryan, one of our talented Manufacturing Engineers. Through his apprenticeship, Ryan has gained essential skills in process optimisation, automation, and problem-solving. His role involves improving production processes, troubleshooting issues on the shop floor, and driving efficiency improvements—including automation and lean manufacturing initiatives.
Beyond technical skills, Ryan’s apprenticeship has helped him develop project management, teamwork, and communication skills. All of these are crucial in the manufacturing industry. He is currently working towards an engineering degree, demonstrating his commitment to continuous learning and career progression.
Ryan’s journey proves how apprenticeships create a pathway for both technical expertise and leadership potential. We are excited to see where his career takes him next!
